Once again, Tagliamonte has created some beautiful Venetian cameos that hearken back to a time long ago when gods, goddesses and mythological beasts roamed our fantasies. Starting at the bottom, these earrings feature handmade Venetian cameos of a mythological beast known as the Sphynx. They are crafted in 18K over 925 Sterling Silver. In Greek tradition, the Sphynx is a Chimera with the head of a woman, the wings of an eagle, and the body of a lion. It signifies power and protection. The cameo dangles from a lovely column with 6mm fresh water cultured Pearls on each end and a Sapphire cabochon in each center. At the ear, is a plated cameo with the image of Mercury in bas relief. Post with butterfly clutch.
