This brooch is part of the Botticelli Collection created by Tagliamonte years ago and now these beauties are being crafted again. It is a pleasure to have this particular design in inventory. This brooch is crafted in 18K yellow gold and features 2 freeform Venetian flowers in beautiful purple and green colors. At the center of each flower is a cluster of natural 3mm freshwater pearls. These cameos are set upon 18K gold metal work that consists of leaf and vine motifs. There are also additional pearls and pink tourmaline cabochons that are sprinkled through out. If you would like to be able to also wear this on a chain or corn, I am including a 14K enhancer clasp. So pretty:)
Sandro Botticelli was born into this world in 1445. At the height of his fame, the Florentine painter was one of the most esteemed artists in Italy. His graceful pictures of the Madonna and Child, his altarpieces and his life-size mythological paintings, such as 'The Birth of Venus', 'Venus and Mars', 'La Primavera', were immensely popular in his lifetime. Many say that Botticelli's muse was Simonetta Cattaneo, wife of Marco Vespucci and love of Giuliano de'Medici. Actually at that time it was said that all the Florentine men had fallen in love with her, Botticelli included, of course.
